Cookie Shop Branding

This is a personal project based on a made-up cookie brand.

I designed a logo and branding for Daisy & Dough, a boutique cookie shop.

Project Break Down

The first thing I did, after naming the cookie boutique, was create a brief outlining exactly what this project entails.

Daisy & Dough is a modern cookie boutique selling at their storefront and in larger grocery chains. It was imperative to create branding, then, that simultaneously stands out amongst competitors and clearly communicates its belonging.

I also wanted to make sure that the branding could be applied to online spaces should Daisy & Dough wish to expand in the future.
I researched market trends and competition. Then, I created a mood board based on the direction I planned to take this project in.

I sketched a ton of possible logos before choosing these seven to clean up and explore further.

I wanted to include a cookie in the logo, since the client explained it should be clear that cookies are their specialty (and it's not obvious in the name alone).

I also played around with font to test different sizing, kerning, etc.

This colour palette offers various combinations to ensure that Daisy & Dough can expand their product line and brand without needing to alter the logo. For example, it includes at least one colour that is readable on transparent, light, and dark backgrounds.
